Cable-Stayed Structure
Amiya has always experimented and successfully implemented innovative roof structures. They have put old wine into new bottles by reapplying the age-old roof-building system of cable-stayed cantilever roof structures, to innovative architectural concepts. This method of cantilever roof structures is being used increasingly in the construction of sports stadiums around the world. The multiple advantages of tubular or angular pre-fab structures are:
• Stability against wind uplift
Erection procedure of cable-stayed structures:
• Concrete columns are placed longitudinally at
5.0M intervals
• 10M structures are projected in the front and
5M projected at the back.
• To prevent overturn against Dead Load and live
Load 2 16-diameter galvanized cables with steel
core with 3mm PVC cover are fastened to the
end of the tubular lattice girder
• To provide stability against wind uplift, the end
of longer sides of the tubular girder are
fastened
• Similar arrangements are made at end of shorter
side by fastening 2 cables at the end and
anchoring with the floor beam of other building.
Construction of cantilever cable-stayed structures for stadium:
• Depending on number of spectators to be
accommodated, the configuration is either fully
circular or with two parallel sides with ends
• The main columns supporting the cross girders
are anchored at the rear end by steel cables
• The cross girders are of latticed tubular
construction of 20M projection in front and
about 5M at the back
• The rear portion of the roof of length about 15M
are covered at the top and front 5.0M in front
have sheet underneath the structures
• The sheets are troughed colour coated
Galvalume sheets
Typical Applications:
• Sports Stadium
• Canopy
• Bridges
